Chopper CoppersMotorcycle thieves have been on a rampage in recent weeks. In one incident, a 32-year-old man parked his 2009 Yamaha YZF-R1 on Varick Street near King Street shortly after midnight on June 12. The bike was gone when he returned just after 1 a.m. A security camera captured the incident and showed two men in a white van pull up, take the bike and take off. Police searched the area with no results. The Yamaha is valued at $7,500.

At 10 p.m. on June 15, a 45-year-old man parked his red/gray 2015 BMW of 450 North End Ave. It too was gone when he came to check on his the next evening. The bike, helmet and gloves are valued at $23,265.

And a Staten Island man’s blue 2016 BMW was taken from outside 225 Rector Place sometime between the morning of June 17 and 6:30 p.m. that day. That BMW is worth $20,000.

Cleaned OutDid a cleaning service clean out their employers? A 25-year-old male employee of Zutto Squared, with offices on Thomas Street, told police that $11,000 in cash had been locked inside an office drawer at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 9. When the cash was checked again at 11:30 a.m. on June 14, it was discovered that $8,000 was missing. Representatives of the business told police that a cleaning service had been in the office on Friday.

AquaNOTAt 4 p.m. on June 9, a 45-year-old man placed his belongings, including a Patek Philippe Aquanaut watch, in a locker in the Equinox health club at 54 Murray St., locked the cubbyhole with a combination lock, and went downstairs to the gym’s boutique to buy a pair of shorts. When he returned to the locker room just 10 minutes later, he found the lock on his locker was missing and his valued at $25,000 watch taken from his bag.
