I call bullshit on Alan Cabal. He writes ("Survival Course: I May Return to College to Escape the Real World," 1/17) that he attended a high school in Philadelphia around the years 1969-1971 and claims, "Nancy Spungen was in a couple of my classes there. We all knew she'd come to a bad end."

If anyone had checked his story, they'd have discovered that Miss Spungen was born in 1958. This would have put her at about 12 or 13 years old by the time Cabal graduated high school, the age at which most of us were just entering seventh or eighth grade, with our Hello Kitty pencil cases full of Seconal.
