Asphalt Green’s basketball teams picked up two divisional wins to start the new year in the 55 Swish League at Basketball City in Lower Manhattan.

The 10-and-under squad pulled away late in the second half to beat the BSNY Titans. Sage Mateo scored a team-high 14 points (4-5 from 3-point range). Ben Goldwyn was also a key contributor, with eight points, six rebounds and four steals in the 29-19 victory.

Jack Bolon and Elijah Floyd led the charge in the 11-and-under team’s 35-15 win over BSNY. Bolon scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds — including four off the offensive boards. Floyd, last year’s league MVP, added nine points, five rebounds and four assists.
