A fundraiser that The Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter held in partnership with the commercial real estate community on June 5 kicked off Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, which will continue throughout June. Six prominent New York City buildings, including One World Trade Center, were lit in purple last Wednesday in honor of Caring to Remember and Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month. The event raised more than $200,000 at the 5th Annual Caring to Remember Cocktail, which honors those impacted by dementia. Funds raised at Caring to Remember will support Alzheimer’s and dementia research and the Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter’s care, support and education programs available to all New Yorkers free of charge.

“The Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter is thankful for our partners in the commercial real estate community for coming together to create this spectacular and meaningful event”, said Christopher Smith, executive director of the Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter. “We are committed to creating a future without Alzheimer’s. The funds raised at Caring to Remember will help to move the world closer to that goal.”
