Anticipating protests over the presidential election outcome early last week, Manhattan businesses boarded up storefronts around town. On some stretches of Columbus Avenue, the boards were a sign of stores that closed because of the pandemic. Other locations, from Soho to Times Square to the UES and UWS, were very much open for business, with wood-covered doors ajar. A look at Manhattan under plywood.
