Turns Out, Dancing Is Dangerous

Forget about the [city's cabaret laws], an incident that happened over the weekend indicates that dancing really can be a life-threatening proposition. Let the following be a lesson for all you naïve folks out there who deign to dance with the wrong partner at a nightclub. Early yesterday morning, a young man was stabbed on a Brooklyn subway platform. The attacker’s motive? Apparently, [Gerlin Collado, 20](http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/500904p-422279c.html), danced with a woman he shouldn’t have at a party on Sackman St. in Brownsville earlier that night, prompting a brawl that would later lead to his death. As Collado and his brother were boarding the L train at the New Lots station at about 3:10 a.m., they were jumped by five men and beaten with a rock before the knife was pulled. Henry Collado didn’t sustain any serious injuries, but Gerlin, who made it off the train at the next stop, was pronounced dead upon arrival at Brookdale University Hospital. The New York Daily News reports: “Cops quickly caught up with the five suspects, who jumped on a departing train that was then held at a nearby station.
